Nichi Morrin has three degree qualifications in clinical psychology in addition to qualifications in business and hairdressing. Nichi is also a writer, researcher, and podcast host of Shine the Spotlight. Nichi not only actively works in the space of 'zebra' health conditions (For eg., EDS/Hypermobility, Connective Tissue Disorders, POTS, pelvic and gut conditions, and chronic pain conditions), she also has lived experience as a zebra woman herself and mum of zebras. Nichi is passionate about improving the lives and creating wellbeing for other zebras.

I refer to certain invisible or complex health conditions as “zebra” conditions because, in medicine, the zebra is a symbol for rare, overlooked, or misunderstood diagnoses. When someone has symptoms that don’t fit the usual patterns, doctors say, “Think horses, not zebras,” meaning look for the common cause first. But many people are the zebras — unique, complex, and often missed or misunderstood. So ‘zebra’ is a respectful, empowering way to describe people whose conditions are real, valid, and sometimes invisible.
